Formerly known as Brighton and Hove Community Initiatives, Impetus is a modern local charity operating in the area of the City of Brighton & Hove. Impetus is a community development organisation and is committed to the following values:

Impetus currently governs six projects, which are individually managed by Project Leaders and separately financed.
Aspire
Mentoring support and skills training for adults with Asperger Syndrome and social skills differences. Autism and Asperger Syndrome awareness training to organisations.
Interact
Advocacy, training and support for adults with learning disabilities, including drop-in service and user-run social group.
Neighbourhood Care Scheme
Good neighbour scheme operating in local communities around Brighton and Hove, providing volunteers to support those with physical disabilities and older people.
Performance Development Service
Infrastructure support for voluntary sector organisations to improve their governance and management systems to enable more effective service provision.
Volunteer Centre (Brighton and Hove)
Drop-in service advertising volunteering opportunities across the cities for those wishing to give their time to support voluntary organisations.
Pensioner Action
Campaigning and information sharing on public services for older people. Regular meetings in are held in neighbourhoods across the city.
